Siliguri : Smriti Giri, Chhatre Subba, and Urgen Lama announced their allegiance to BJP in Siliguri on Saturday. BJP party secretary Asim Sarkar welcomed them in their party and expects the big difference in coming Loksabha elections of Darjeeling constituency. They are hopeful to form Government in Centre, who is in favour of smaller states and believes that only BJP can deliver Darjeeling a separate Gorkhaland state.

Smriti Giri, social activist known internationally and professional political event manager at national level, who actively campaigns for leading national political parties. Miss Giri also represent from distinguished Giri families of Darjeeling, she is daughter of youngest brother of Late Agam Singh Giri. She did her MBA from London, UK.
Meanwhile, Chattre Subba, one time GLO leader, who had announced his political retirement, when people of hills failed to attend his call for Gorkhaland sometime back. Urgen Lama is former GNLF leader from Kalimpong.
