While violence against women is raking the entire country a struggling singer has been apprehended in Kalimpong under the charges of domestic violence. Nabin Baraily (30), who had recently released his music album, has been accused of beating up his wife, who also is a mother of a newborn. Baraily was today picked up by police from his residence at Atisha Road.

Police sources informed Baraily’s wife had given birth to a daughter only 15 days ago. Following an argument between the couple on Friday, Rasaily allegedly hit his wife with belt and hands and severely injured her. His wife was admitted at the sub-divisional hospital after the incident. Baraily has further been accused of threatening his brother-in-law via a mobile phone sms, warning him against spreading the news of the incident.
Baraily was arrested today after his wife lodged a police complaint from the hospital. Baraily has been indicted under sections 498(A) and 325. He was also presented at the Kalimpong court today and was subsequently sent to 15 days of judicial remand.
